The machine: 999 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin, Unicam, PGM-FI, driving a six-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). That gearbox is the reason a Talon manual is not interchangeable with any CVT-equipped side-by-side — the diagnostic procedures, the clutch learning routines and the service intervals are specific to DCT. The 1000X and 1000R differ in track width and suspension travel, and the manual carries separate setup figures for each.
